Brendan Blumer started a twitter thread where he clearly explains what Block.One's goals are with the EOSIO software: "to yield traditional database infrastructure impractical and unjustifiable altogether".
Block.One is expanding its team of engineers to ensure that EOSIO becomes the (blockchain) database architecture that can simultaneously possess data integrity, maintain a high level of security and perform efficiently or more than current databases.
