LiquidApps brought out two more new surprises this week: Cross-Chain vRAM and Universal LiquidAccounts. Both of these features dramatically improve the cross-chain experience between EOSIO chains, and simplify both the development and functionality of new innovative dApps!
Through Cross-Chain vRAM, any data generated in a smart contract in an EOSIO chain and stored on vRAM, can now be accessed by a contract on an entirely different chain. Currently it is possible to access the data only as a read-only feature, but in such a way that matches the consensus from both chains, by using Inter Planetary File System (IPFS).
In this way dApps can expand their services on a variety of EOSIO chains, without having to choose and stick with only one. Thus creating greater flexibility for both developers, especially in terms of resources, and users. This will generate much more value and opportunities for all EOSIO chains that can all be linked together, allowing an improvement in users that should not be underestimated.
"This creates a shared memory across multiple chains & opens the door for breakthrough use-cases, such as universal LiquidAccounts."
Thanks to the Cross-Chain vRAM, the LiquidAccounts are also enhanced, and can now be used on any LiquidX compatible EOSIO chain. In this way users will be able to manage a single account that will be connected to all the chains, simplifying the user experience, and taking a step towards mass adoption.
"Imagine a world where a single account can act as a global keyring, transacting on any dApp and every blockchain. That future begins today!"
LiquidApps documentation has already been updated with new services, developers can already start testing and prepare to launch new integrations!
"To enable the usage of LiquidAccounts across chains, a “cross-chain host” must be deployed on each supported EOSIO chain. This “cross-chain host” will be configured to use the LiquidAccounts that have been registered on the “host chain” contract." - LiquidApps Documentation
